Begin Mentoring with Support
Interested mentors from across the United States submit an interest form to serve within their local geographical area.
Once your interest form is received, a representative from EveryMentorCounts.org will contact you to learn more about your background and goals.
If accepted as a mentor, you will be matched with individuals requiring your support, or with a point of contact (POC) from their releasing institution.
You will begin serving as a mentor and accountability partner. Our team will equip you with tools and resources to support a successful transition.

Who qualifies for the mentorship programs?
Our programs are specifically designed for incarcerated individuals & justice-involved veterans who are seeking support with reentry, fatherhood, and purpose. We welcome all incarcerated individuals.
What is the expected time commitment?
Mentorship typically involves a commitment of 1-2 hours per week. This consistency is vital for building a strong, supportive relationship based on trust and shared growth.
Is there any cost to participate in these programs?
No. Every Mentor Counts is a purpose-driven and is dedicated to removing barriers to reentry. All of our mentorship programs, resources, and educational modules are provided free of charge.
How does the mentor matching process work?
This is a national database of mentors. We utilize a thoughtful matching process that pairs mentees with trained mentors based on lived experiences, personal goals, and the specific needs identified during assessment process.
Can I begin a program while still serving a sentence?
Yes. Our mentors actively work within jails, detention centers, and federal prisons throughout the nation. We believe in starting the restoration process early to ensure a smoother transition upon release.
